Dear Wife, I’m Praying For You
I’ve been staring at a blank screen for nearly an hour. It’s been a hard season and sometimes these posts come easy and sometimes there are just no words. Today is one of those days. I can’t seem to formulate words to share what’s on my heart as we look at Jesus, our Treasure. So today I thought I might just peel back the curtain a bit and share a verse that I’m praying for you. A few years ago, I read these words and they implanted themselves in my heart:
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure, buried in a field, that a man found and reburied. Then in his joy he goes and sells everything he has and buys that field.
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls. When he found one priceless pearl, he went and sold everything he had and bought it.
MATTHEW 13: 44-46
I began to pray these words for my daughters—Lord, please let my girls see you as the greatest Treasure in all the universe. In joy, let them forsake their lesser treasures and “buy the field”. Let them come to treasure you with all their hearts, souls, minds and strength.
And dear Restored Home community, I pray this for you too. I pray you will know that Jesus is your greatest Treasure. I pray that you will lay down your hurt, your anger, your grief and your questions and know that Jesus is enough. I pray you will lay down all your heart is running after to fill the broken places and know that Jesus is enough. I pray that you will look at your life, not through the lens of what you’ve lost, but what you’ve gained. Buy the field, friends. Buy it with all your heart. Jesus is our great Treasure and in him we find all we need, all we could hope for, all we long for, all we hope for.
I’m praying for you today. Life is so heavy, isn’t it? I’m feeling it too. May our hearts lift up as we look to Jesus and see what a glorious gift we’ve been given. Enjoy him today!
Brighter days are ahead,
Rachel 🧡
