Dear Wife, You’re Not Alone

We can approach the throne of mercy and grace with confidence.
On days of doubt.
Days of loneliness.
Days when our lives feel impossibly broken.

On our best days and our very worst days, we have access to mercy and grace.

It is not a throne of judgement, or “try harder”, or “pull yourself together first”. It is a place of mercy and helping grace. And the door is open wide to us.

It’s open because of Jesus, our God WITH us, who-
emptied himself
by assuming the form of a servant,
taking on the likeness of humanity.
And when he had come as a man,
he humbled himself by becoming obedient
to the point of death—
even to death on a cross. (Phil 2:7-8)

Because Jesus is God WITH us, we now have access to His throne. We are shown mercy. We are given grace “to help us in time of need” (Heb 4:16).

Dear Wife, are you in need today? I sure am. Let’s choose to fix our eyes on our Jesus, who stepped down, took on flesh, became a servant and chose to die for us, ransoming us and adopting us into His family. He has opened the door.

Because He came, He now bids us COME.

We don’t have to go it alone. We have Jesus, who has walked ahead of us, carried the weight of sin and suffering and even death. He has invited us near. Today, let’s take Him up on that invitation and approach His throne with confidence knowing deep in our hearts that we will find mercy and grace upon helping grace.
